Одной из менее известных функций iTunes 9.1, помимо быстрого просмотра информации о приложениях, является новая возможность конвертации песен с высоким битрейтом в формат AAC 128Кбит/с при синхронизации iPhone или iPod touch. Как это сделать? Просто отметьте чекбокс на главной закладке Обзор, выбрав iPhone из списка устройств в iTunes. Теперь при первой синхронизации устройства все песни, которые находятся в формате, отличном от AAC 128Кбит/с, будут удалены и добавлены в сжатом формате.
Когда я отметил эту опцию в первый раз, на моем iPhone было около 400 песен. На все про все ушло около десяти минут. После первой, самой долгой конвертации iPhone будет синхронизировать вашу музыку так же, как и раньше (если, конечно, вы не обновляете ее каждый раз при синхронизации). Если оставить опцию “Снижать битрейт для песен высокого качества до 128 Кбит/с AAC” включенной, то любая новая песня, добавленная на iPhone, будет автоматически переводиться в новый формат.
Стоит заметить, что сжатие на лету не затрагивает оригинальные файлы в библиотеки iTunes – все песни остаются с тем же битрейтом в котором были ранее.
Работает ли это? Я сэкономил около 1.5 Гб на своем 8 Гб iPhone. По опыту других пользователей можно говорить об 2-5 Гб. Размер сохраненного пространства будет зависеть от битрейта и типа файлов. Пользователи, которые смогли выручить 5 Гб говорят, что на конвертирование треков ушло несколько часов.
А как же качество звучания? На родных наушниках Apple я не заметил разницу в качестве звука. Если же вы аудиофил или вас достойные наушники (например, последние Shure), то падения качества звука может быть заметным.
