“Я до сих пор не могу в это поверить! И вся истерия из-за него? Я хочу что-нибудь новое! Я хочу, чтобы в Apple думали по-другому! Зачем, зачем они сделали его?!! Это неправильно! Это глупо!”

Знакомо? Нет, это не реакция на Apple iPad, как Вы могли бы подумать. Этот комментарий появился на сайте MacRumors в 2001 году после анонса iPod. iPod – это устройство, которое сегодня является символом персонального плеера, самый великий продукт компании за прошлое десятилетие. Тогда в 2001 он подвергся сильной критике. Это был “просто очередной MP3-плеер”.

Одна отличительная деталь в сравнении iPod с новым iPad: три года после запуска устройства уровень продаж был очень низкий. После появления iPod еще два года не было iTunes для Windows, а для iPad в App Store созданы все условия.

- Вот так! MP3 плеер с большим дисплеем! Как оригинально! Копия JUKEBOX…
- Вся эта истерия по MP3 плееру? Прорывной цифровой гаджет? Сознание Стива помутилось в искаженной реальности. Если он хотя бы на секунду задумается, то поймет, что эта штука не протянет и года.
- На рынке уже есть два похожих продукта Nomad Jukebox и Archos Jukebox. Скоро у них будет по 20 Гб HDD. Возможно iPod немного круче – с интерфейсом firewire, но он не является революционным. Я разочаровался. Думаю Apple совершила ошибку, шагнув на этот рынок.

Эти старые, местами забавные комментарии к iPod дают нам понять, сколько времени может пройти до настоящего взрыва. Судя по голосованию на нашем сайте, многие ждут iPad 2G.

“Я бы назвал его Cube 2.0, который не будет продаваться и умрет через несколько лет. Стив, можно я возьму КПК?” Вот что говорят сейчас о новом планшетнике Apple. Пройдет еще десять лет, пока мы узнаем, оправдаются ли сегодняшние претензии к неуклюжести и отсутствию камеры в iPad. А может быть дело не в камере, а в поддержке Flash? В ретроспективе это может выглядеть так же нелепо, как прежние жалобы на iPod.
