Opera для iPhone: быть или не быть?

Сейчас, когда мы пишем эту новость, прошло 20 часов 24 минуты и 37 секунд, как Opera отправила свой браузер Opera Mini на проверку App Store. Откуда такая точность? В дополнение к официальному анонсу браузера компания разместила на сайте огромный таймер.
Впервые о своих планах на Opera Mini для iPhone Opera рассказала в начале февраля. Как мы потом написали, реакцию Купертино легко предугадать, так как Apple не допускает в App Store любые браузеры на альтернативных движках.
Opera Mini доступна для Symbian и Android, а Mozilla работает над браузером для Android и Windows Mobile.
Существенная разница между Opera и Safari в том, что первый браузер использует технологию дополнительной обработки веб-страниц: перед отправкой на iPhone Opera Mini сжимает содержимое страницы на серверах Opera. Эта технология существенно снижает время загрузки сайта и размер страниц, что очень удобно для мобильного Интернета.
Далее ролик с демонстрацией работы Opera Mini. Стоит отметить, что браузер работает быстрее, чем нативный Safari.
Даже если мы поиграемся с Opera Mini и вернемся к Safari, всегда здорово иметь выбор, будь то платформа или программное обеспечение. Но ведь Apple не всегда думает так, как мы.
Надеюсь, Opera Mini успешно пройдет досмотр и появится в App Store, что будет означать начало революции браузеров на iPhone или, как минимум, появление альтернативы, что всегда хорошо.
