Швейцарский программист Маттиас Рингвальд разработал приложения BTstack Keyboard, которое позволяет подключать Bluetooth-клавиатуру к смартфону. Программа доступна через неофициальный магазин Cydia по цене 5 долларов.
До сегодняшнего дня iPhone мог работать только с виртуальной клавиатурой, которой не все были довольны. Хотя телефон и поддерживает функцию Bluetooth, его нельзя было использовать для подключения периферийных устройств – только для соединения с другими телефонами, гарнитурами или специальными аксессуарами.
Приложение с открытым кодом BTstack Keyboard работает на iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS и iPod touch с jailbreak. Информация о возможности установки приложения на iPhone 2G пока не поступала.
