На CNBC в четверг, Билл Гейтс поделился своими мыслями о работе Стива Джобса в Apple.

Когда Билл Гейтс открыл Microsoft в конце 70-х, его компания разрабатывала софт похожий на The AppleSoft Complier, который переводил BASIC в машинный язык Apple. С тех пор, два мульти-миллиардера ведут жесткую конкуренцию на рынке ПК. “Он проделал фантастическую работу”, – сказал Гейтс на CNBC.

“Apple находится немного в другом бизнесе: она производит и железо и софт. Стив вернулся в Apple, которая, вскоре, поглотила компанию Next, из которой он ушел. Apple, в то время, находилась в очень плохой форме. По-большому счету, она не должна была выжить”. “.. он вернулся в команду и вдохновил ее на создание великих продуктов. Он привел Apple к тому виду, в котором она находится сейчас. И очень здорово иметь такого конкурента. Мы пишем софт для Apple, точнее Microsoft. Она конкурирует с Apple. Но Стив, один из всех лидеров, кто больше всех вдохновил компанию, и тем самым спас ее от банкротства”.
