По мнению аналитиков, в книжном магазине Apple iBook store на многих изданиях будет красоваться цифровой замок.
Ветераны iTunes знают, что в качестве такого замка выступает FairPlay – технология для защиты информации от нелегального копирования.
Около года назад Apple сняла цифровые оковы с музыки в iTunes Store. Но, по информации инсайдера, в следующем месяце Apple вновь достанет из шкафа цифровые кандалы – в этот раз для электронного чтива.
Без сомнения, некоторые издатели, например O’Reilly Media, которые громогласно заявляют о вреде DRM для продаж цифрового контента, предпочтут отказаться от FairPlay. Хотя надо сказать, что издательство O’Reilly, выпускающее технические книги, не попало в пятерку партнеров Apple во время презентации iPad.
Большинство же издателей пойдут на FairPlay, которая вместе с Adobe Content Server 4, пресечет на корню все книжное пиратство в iBook store. По моему убеждению, эта парочка, ни много ни мало, может вызвать угасание всего рынка электронных книг.
