Fudzilla опубликовала новую информацию о первом шестиядерном процессоре от Intel, Core i7 980X. Процессор будет работать на частоте 3.33ГГц и сможет достигать, благодаря технологии Turbo Boost, частоты 3.6ГГц, при простаивании всех ядер. CPU обещает скорость QPI 6.4Гб/сек, как у топовой линейки четырехядерных Xeon 4 и поддержку памяти 1066 DDR (а не 1333, как предполагалось ранее). Тепловыделение будет на уровне 130Вт. Этот параметр имеет немаловажное значение. В самом деле, в настоящее время Apple использует только один процессор с TDP 130Вт – это 3.33Ггц CPU на однопроцессорном Mac Pro. У Mac Pro с двумя процессорами максимальное тепловыделение CPU составляет 85Вт. Поэтому, если компания собирается предлагать нам таких монстров, то им стоит все же задуматься об улучшении охлаждения или выбирать модели процессоров помедленнее.
