“Новые MacBook и iMac от Apple – выдающиеся продукты, но едва ли они сделали большой шаг в эволюции”, – размышляет обозреватель Wall Street Journal Уолт Моссберг. MacBook можно похвалить за большой трэкпад, позаимствованный у MacBook Pro и быструю загрузку ноутбука в 22 секунды.

Обновленный MacBook легче чем предшественник (2,13 кг) и снабжен мощной аккумуляторной батареей, наверняка с меньшим временем работы, чем заявленные Apple 7 часов.

Моссберг так же критикует Apple за отсутствие у MacBook FireWire и поддержки дистанционного управления. Компьютеру определенно не хватает SD слота, как у MacBook Pro.

Зато SD карт-ридеры были добавлены в новые iMac, главное улучшение которых – увеличенный размер диагонали экрана. Базовая модель выросла с 20 до 21,5 дюймов, а 24-дюймовая модель подросла до 27 дюймов. Обозреватель отметил большую диагональ iMac: “Широкий экран компьютера можно эффективно использовать в работе: например разместить Word и браузер рядом, вместо использования двух мониторов”. Единственное, цена компьютера в 1499$ не позволит ему получить широкое распространение на рынке.

В целом, Моссберг делает акцент на то, что Маки по-прежнему дороже, чем их PC конкуренты. “Это может стать проблемой для Apple теперь, когда Windows 7 сделала PC более привлекательной платформой для пользователей”, – говорит Моссберг. Обозреватель так же полагает, что Magic Mouse, вероятно, самый значимый продукт в обновленной линейке компьютеров Apple, как первая мышь, использующая мульти-тач технологию.
